Between 1963 and 1986 the ÖBB purchased in total 84 “Aerial Platform Wagons” (MTW) with two axles and powered both by electricity and diesel for work on the overhead electricity lines. On the roof of these vehicles are both the earth handle and the lifting platform. In the engine house there is a spacious workroom and two driving positions. The motor with 122 kW power is at the front of the engine. From number 70 onwards the wagon was powered by a 147 kW engine. The maximum speed was 80 km/h. The 7,74 metre long vehicle was powered over one axle. The paintwork was changed many times.
Our model is equipped with a manual platform, which can be turned and raised. The paintwork is in the most modern ÖBB design. Engine: traffic red with a cadmium-yellow stripe; Roof and chassis: umbra grey; Platform: zinc yellow.
